About Lula’s Longarm Quilting
Our Background
Lula’s Longarm Quilting is a mother-daughter business that officially opened in March 2021.
Betsy and Margaret both started quilting in 2002 when they took a quilting class through the San Diego Community College with Betsy's late sister, Sally. Margaret even became the teacher's assistant for the class (taught by Nancy Fischer, at that time) for a couple semesters.
While Margaret was busy at college, Betsy continued on quilting, becoming more and more passionate about the craft. Betsy has been involved with the Fallbrook Quilt Guild since 2002 and in 2012 she began facilitating the Monday Night Quilt Class through the Fallbrook School of the Arts.
In 2009, Betsy purchased her first longarm sewing machine. She has grown evermore passionate about quilting and upgraded to a computerized machine in 2021.
Margaret, being a mother of 2 young children, was looking for a way to earn money, while still being able to spend time with her babies (Theo & Lena). Betsy has been doing some quilting for others for many years and had often brought up the idea of a joint quilting business venture. Enter: Lula's Longarm Quilting.
Now, you might be asking, who is Lula? Only Theo knows...
